RURAL HOUSING (PMAY-G)
PRADHAN MANTRI AWAAS YOJANA –GRAMIN
- Indira Awaas Yojana, the Rural Housing Scheme was revamped to PMAY-G and the new scheme was launched by the Government of India on 23rd March 2016.
- Under PMAY-G, Sikkim was allotted a total target of 1399 houses, (FY 2016-17, 2020-21,2021-22)
BENEFICIARY IDENTIFICATION:
- Ministry has directed states to identify beneficiaries from the SECC list, however after the list was exhausted, a request was made to MoRD regarding identification of beneficiaries using the criteria’s set by SECC and list approved thereafter by the Gram Sabha.
- The beneficiaries identified are in the Awaasplus app and the target for the FY 2020-21 and 2021-22 was derived from the list based on the priority/ranking order.
- A target of 321 i.e. 253 for 2020-21 and 68 for 2021-22 was allotted by the Ministry based on the Awaasapp priority list, under which all the houses have been completed.
- And as directed by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, a survey of 5273 houses has been completed in the FY 2025-26 as per the prescribed criteria.
FUNDING AS GRANT-IN-AID:
The grant of Rs. 1.3 lakh is released in 4 instalments.

The total funds are shared as 90:10 for Centre and State respectively.
CONVERGENCE:
1. PMAY-G share: Rs. 1.3 lakh
2. MGNREGA share:
- Individual Household Latrine IHHL, Rs. 12,000/- for wage and material component. (skilled or semi-skilled labour)
- 95 man-days to the PMAY-G beneficiary (daily wage rate @ Rs. 236/-) Rs. 22,420/-
- Rs. 50,000/- as land development (approximately 211 man-days)
State Government provides 30 (nos) GCI Sheets to all PMAY G beneficiaries. (Rs. 42,000/- per house)
Total expenditure in constructing one PMAY house:
12000 + 22420 + 50000 + 42000 + 130000= Rs.2,56,420/-
